this is definitely not level 9, the hardest part can be determined by a simple gdb brute script

I dunno about rev so can't judge, but usually if you think the level's difficulty is higher than the majority thinks, maybe you are too used to easier challenges, in other words you may need more training. Also the first blood is in 3 hours and there are 15 solvers in less than 3 day, yeah it's not a 9.

Start from scratch, observe the program, and make a figure how this binary works. It's indeed level 9, this can be mind breaking.
